Where She Begins 9 — Day 253
In Where She Begins 9, I return to the female figure with my attention on posture and color. Seen from the front at a slight angle, the seated woman holds a pose that leads the eye from her lowered face to the diagonal of her bent legs. Her extended arm offers a quieter vertical, balancing the movement across the body.
Warm ochre meets cool blue-grey, while cream and peach passages bring light to the figure. Dark contours hold the pose together, sometimes widening into bold strokes. I am exploring how colour can describe the body and change the way we feel its presence: where it seems heavy, where it turns, and where it catches our attention.
