Where She Begins 8 — Day 252
After looking closely at the human body in the preceding studies, I return to abstraction with Where She Begins 8. The figure loosens into broad, interlocking shapes. Cream curves pass between deep blue and olive forms, while yellow, ochre, and muted pink bring warmth to their meeting points. A bodily presence remains, carried by the way these shapes bend and fit together.
Here, the observations gathered through study begin to find another use. A remembered contour becomes the edge of a colour; a sense of weight becomes a darker shape. I am exploring how much of the body can remain through these relationships, even when its anatomy is no longer clearly described.
