Where She Begins 7 — Day 251

Where She Begins 7 continues my study of the human body as a way of building visual memory. Returning to the same subject gives me another chance to notice what I might otherwise overlook: how a shoulder connects to the back, how the waist changes direction, how a small shift in proportion affects the whole figure. Familiar shapes become reasons to look again.

Through these studies, I am gathering relationships as much as outlines. Each observation adds something to the forms I can recall and imagine. Later, in an abstract painting, a remembered curve may return in an unexpected place, carrying the rhythm of a body even when the figure itself has disappeared.
