Where She Begins — Day 258
Seated with her back turned, a woman rests her hands beside her as loose blue lines trace the slope of her shoulders and the curve of her spine. Cream and pale beige spread across her back, interrupted by cool grey shadows and small touches of coral. The white surrounding her leaves the posture exposed, allowing each shift in the body to hold attention.
With Where She Begins, I wanted to study both the body and how much space each color occupies. Broad pale passages give the smaller, warmer marks room to stand out, while deeper blues help define the figure’s weight. I am interested in how changing these proportions can alter the feeling of a familiar pose, bringing energy into a moment of stillness.
