The Unruly Almost — Day 259
One cloud stretches while another gathers, their edges briefly meeting before drifting apart. In The Unruly Almost, broad cream passages open between blue, ochre, and pale grey strokes. Above the denser marks, a looping brown line rises into open space, suggesting a movement still unfolding.
I wanted to bring several movements of clouds into one composition: spreading, curling, breaking apart, and forming again. The sweeping strokes carry those larger shifts, while smaller marks introduce sudden changes of direction. I like the moment when a shape almost becomes recognisable, then loses its outline. The eye keeps searching, much as it does when watching a changing sky.
