Passing Weather — Day 279

I made Passing Weather as a digital study for a painting on canvas, testing how broad areas of cream and grey could hold a restless arrangement of colour. Navy, coral, yellow and olive gather along the right and lower edges, while long, pale strokes leave a quieter opening on the left.

That uneven balance is what I want to carry into the painting. The darker passages give the composition weight, while sweeping lines connect its scattered colours. Together, they suggest a view changing with the weather, its shapes briefly settling before shifting again.
