Here is the poster number 82. It is an abstract — except for Apollo’s head — pink and blue experimentation made with Photoshop.
The design

I start by adding a pink background. Then, I create a new layer and draw curved lines with a pencil to transform them into a new shape. I changed its blend mode to obtain the result on the poster’s left. I add a big gradient rectangle in blue color from 100% opacity to 0%. I play with Apollo’s face and blend mode, adding white rectangles and lines to create the blue circle. I duplicated some of its layers and some colors that I distorted. I added a lighting effect to the blue circle and changed its blend mode again.
I let my intuition and feelings guide me in designing this poster. It was an intuitive process, similar to playing with blend mode over other modes . Once you finish experimentation and find something that works well, it can be challenging to obtain the desired result.
Speed Art Poster #82
It’s another nice day spent designing a poster. I enjoyed this poster design challenge, which I titled Apollo 365°, because it is very challenging, and I am already afraid of the day it will end!
Here is the Speed Art Video where you can watch me working. See you tomorrow for poster #83!
