Today’s poster is a bit special and doesn’t show Apollo. Special because I get inspired by a journey made by one of my friends, José Gsell, in Canada. José is a backpacker, not a five-star hotel tourist. He sleeps in the wood, hunts, — maybe not — tries his luck in the rivers and lacs, he gathers fruits, berries and everything edible. José often hitchhikes to travel; he smokes, drinks, get high, meet people, and does stuff. José leaves his life as he wants, and nobody will steal it!
The Design
Unfortunatly, José is not a great photographer.
He also lost a camera card with high res pictures inside.
What’s luck? He related his travel titled “Quebecker’s Wandering” available in French on Bandcamp.
I listened to his story and got inspired by its ability to describe what happens to him in a simple way. I feel he almost says everything which passes through his mind.
I thought I would create a wild design about nature and mix all the picture he will send to me. The only two pictures I can use was made by night and didn’t show any three or flower. On the pictures I selected, you notice two silhouettes walking on a wet sidewalk, house or building’s structure, a car, and some citie’s light.
So, to create the poster I used horizontal and vertical symmetry by duplicating the photographs. They are too small to work with them correctly. It was the way I found to enlarge them without lost quality. I copied and pasted some parts of the pictures and changed the Hue/Saturation of them with different settings. I added typography and played with the letters as I felt about my friend’s story.
Speed Art Poster #266
Waow, another busy day spending on work and my poster design. When will I take a rest? I am wondering!
I am glad to introduce you today’s speed art video inspired by José’s travel.
As well, I am also glad to go to bed! See you tomorrow for Poster 267! Have nice night!
