Time Poster #272

Vintage poster design presentation number 272 titled Time

The poster I made today is a vintage style I rarely create. Vintage is an old style, used, dusty, our grandfather’s stuff. Some people call that retro, but I think this is something different, especially in the graphic design area.

The Design

Visual of the poster design Time

I challenged myself today, and I think I made one of the fastest designs I ever made for my self-imposed daily design challenge, Apollo 365°. I felt that a vintage-style design would take me a long time. Finally, it appears to have been the reverse. Designing today’s poster took me only a bit more than ten minutes.

I appreciate when a design goes smoothly throughout the process from the start to the end. We know that this rarely happens with our clients. Ok, I know, I design for myself; I am supposed to know what I like and want to do. Create something for yourself; for example, a website is arduous. This is where you can meet your clients when they constantly change their minds. That is when you must let them know that strategy is helping their business to find its purpose, which will help align everybody in the same way and follow the same goal.

I know I am off-topic, but I am having trouble convincing a client that it is better to find the meaning of a design after making it. For today’s poster, I searched for some vector elements I knew I bought in a creative bundle. I wanted to play with vectors without investing too much time into drawing a complex illustration myself—what a lazy man!

Speed Art Poster #272

Usually, I’d like to create my illustration. But today, because of the short time I had to spend on the project, I used vector and picture elements from someone else.

In today’s speed art video, you will see me designing a style I rarely use. I wish you a good night and invite you to look at tomorrow’s poster, number 273! See you!
