Yesterday evening, I saw a basketball match between two teams in the town where I live now.
It motivated me so much about sports and about life, too. Seeing all of them playing hard reminded me that I must do it every time, everywhere.
The Design
I started designing late in the morning. I didn’t know what I would create, so as a routine, I opened Photoshop and added the day’s information to the canvas. While doing that, like a machine, I thought about what I would create.
It didn’t work, still no idea. Then I opened the software to record my screen and place Apollo.
I selected the Brush Tool without any purpose, and then a blurry vision of what I would do on this poster came to my eyes. I drew a circle with a blue color, added some other blue to make it look like a sphere, and used the Warp Transformation to make it look organic. I played with the form and distorted it here and there to obtain something I felt was nice.
I duplicate the form, add a Gaussian Blur Effect, and select a blending mode to make it shine. Then, I choose a part of the shape, duplicate it, and place Apollo between the layers.
After adding typography, lines, and some particle effects with the brush tool, I destroyed Apollo’s head by removing parts of its head and pasting them as if he had disintegrated himself. I play with the layers and blending mode to obtain something satisfying. That’s all for today’s poster.
Speed Art Poster #317
If this poster interests you and you want to know how I created it from start to finish, you will be happy to see that I recorded myself. You can take a look at the speed art video tutorial.
Thanks for the read! I’ll see you tomorrow for poster 318. Have a nice day!
