To create this poster design, I allow myself to connect with my childhood one more time. Demerger poster is a playful and dynamic creation.
The Design
The colors I used to create the Demerger poster are red, blue, yellow, and greyscale, the same as the picture of Apollo. I created something I would like to call splash forms with Apollo. I made many of them and played around with my composition to allow me to realize different variations. I also added a Gaussian Blur and Directional Blur Filter to some of them to generate a sense of speed and bring a spatial dimension to the poster.
I started by creating the large organic forms behind Apollo’s forms. Then, I cut the different curves with the Photoshop Pen Tool to create many paths that point in all directions. That was to integrate a sense of explosion into the viewer’s eyes. Like that, the poster seems moving; it is not static. To add more effect to the explosion, I passed forms into the Filter Blur and Directional Blur and defined the angle I wanted.
To insert more depth, I merged all the layers, which figure Apollo, duplicated them, and passed them over the Gaussian Blur Filter. After that, I passed the layer under the blend mode, Darker.
