Borrowed Stress

Borrowed Stress was created while traveling from China to Switzerland with my daughter, a journey shaped by long hours, constant movement, and the invisible pressure that accumulates along the way. Rather than depicting the trip itself, the painting transforms that emotional weight into energetic gestures and fractured forms. Bold black brushstrokes collide with sharp geometric accents of blue, magenta, and gray, creating a composition that feels compressed, restless, and in perpetual motion.

Executed in my signature abstract expressionist style, the work combines spontaneous action painting, expressive mark-making, and layered digital brushwork. The result is a visual translation of carrying tension that isn't entirely your own—a reminder that stress can be absorbed, shared, and silently transported from one place to another.
