Digital creation realized with Photoshop and inspired by Japanese designers

About the Poster

I sought inspiration this early morning to help me create poster #406. I liked the Japanese style of posters and other stuff I saw from Japanese designers. I decided to inspire myself with their layout, style, and shapes and immerse myself in their mentality to create today’s poster.

I wanted to appropriate their style and to do so; I replaced the unique color they use with gradients because gradients are playful! I also repeated many shapes, letters, and patterns here and here on the canvas without following a precise grid. I only use the grid once or twice and still ask myself why. There is no need to use a grid; only design with my instinct is enough to realize that style. Of course, I also use my experimented perception of shapes and their different kinds of relations and interactions.

I also like to search for fonts. Don’t ask why. If you are a designer, you can guess why finding the right font combination is satisfying. The typography is sexy, and a few of the fonts are sensual.
The problem is that there are too many fonts, and many of them are ugly. This is probably due to various varieties, from bad to exceptional.

When I look at the Gradient Kid Poster, I feel I should create a mini-series about that style to explore it further and experiment deeper.

Poster speed art

The video is around ten minutes long, which is the standard length! If you like the design, look at the speed art video; I recorded the process from start to finish!
Don’t forget to come back tomorrow and discover poster #407!
Have a nice day and take care!
