Visual of the poster design 377 Past Life

About the Poster

It’s a busy day creating a poster design! Unfortunately, I’m starting to wake up late these days. Since the start of 2020, I have selected a nice, fresh picture of a girl on the website Unsplash.

Like yesterday, I encountered trouble cutting out the girl’s hair. Once I finished it, I noticed some hairs were too light and looked strange on a dark background. I tried to solve this visual problem by masking it with a Radial Gradient Effect. I duplicated the girl’s layer and applied a strong Radial Gradient above and a weaker one behind. I erased some parts of the Radial Gradient above the eyes.

Then, I arranged typography and geometric shapes between the layers with the girl. I also used transparency in the geometric shapes and typography to melt them with the background and subject.

I am trying to customize my YouTube channel, and I have to say that it is a bit difficult. I want to differentiate 2019 from the 2020 challenge by creating a new Playlist for each. The problem is showing it nicely on my front page. I only tried it for ten minutes because I had to do something else.
I see you tomorrow for poster #378! Have a nice day!

The song I selected to create the speed art video is Ocean View, and it was made by Dyalla (YouTube).
