Time Poster #272

The poster I made today is a style I usually don’t often create, vintage. Vintage, this is an old and ancient style, used, dusty, our grandfather stuff. Some people call that retro, but I think this is something different, especially in the graphic design area.

The Design

I challenged myself today, and I think I made one of the fastest design I ever made for my self-imposed daily design challenge Apollo 365°. I thought that a vintage style design would take me a long time. Finally, it appears to be the reverse. Design today’s poster took me only a bit more than ten minutes.

I appreciate when a design is going smooth all along the process. From the start to the end. We know that it is rarely the case with our clients. Ok, I know, I design for myself, I am supposed to know what I like, and what I want to do. Create something for yourself; for example, a website is an arduous task. This is where you can meet your client when they are always changing their mind. That is the time where you must let them know that strategy is helping their business to find their purpose, that will help align everybody in the same way and follow the same goal.

I am off-topic I know, I am experiencing a difficult time convincing a client who believes that it is better to find the meaning of a design after making it. For today’s poster, I searched for some vector elements I knew I bought in a creative bundle. I wanted to play with vectors without invest myself too much into drawing a complex illustration by myself — what a lazy man!

Speed Art Poster #272

Usually, I’d like to create my illustration. But today, and because of the short amount of time I have to spend on the project, I used someone else vector and picture elements.

On Today’s speed art video you will watch me designing a style I don’t often use before. For now, I wish good night and invite to take a look at tomorrow’s poster number 273! See you!
