Day 39,
Counterpoise is a minimalist study built from a few restrained marks and quiet color fields. I wanted to see how little I could use—and still create a sense of structure, rhythm, and meaning. Each shape acts like a weight: placed with intention, held apart by breathing room, and balanced through distance rather than detail.

The composition plays with tension and calm at the same time. Soft, muted tones create a gentle atmosphere, while the darker accents and sharp edges anchor the eye and suggest a subtle pull between elements. The empty space isn’t a background—it’s part of the artwork’s architecture, giving the forms room to resonate.

With Counterpoise, I explored how balance can feel emotional: not perfectly symmetrical, but stable—like a quiet moment where everything finally settles.
