The Grey Dancer is a digital portrait of a young woman seen frontally, her hair tied in a loose bun and her gaze calm but intense. I used a limited palette of greys, ochres and soft yellows, building the face with flat shapes, cross-hatching and scribbled marks.
The graphic lines around her features and neck suggest traces of movement, like the memory of a choreography still vibrating in the body. Between stillness and motion, this piece captures the moment of pause, when a dancer comes back to herself after the performance.
