Today’s poster design is inspired by the Chinese Heavy Heat. Accordingly to the thema, I used the chinese translation of Apollo — only if google translate got it right!
The Design
This poster is only made with channels and awesome smoke brushes. Don’t ask where I got them; I can’t remember, I download them too long ago.
As you can notice in the speed art video below, I almost start with the same style of yesterday’s poster. I quickly rectified this mistake by setting a black background and type Apollo in Chinese.
After that, I got some trouble to use Channels in Photoshop because I forgot to rasterize the type before. I tried many times, and I was asking myself; what’s wrong?
Then, I cut inside the red, blue, and green channels some part of the type and displace or erase the channel’s layer to create something vibrant.
To finish with the design, I played a lot with the smoke brushes. I had a lot of fun to create the heat effect on the font. I painted them on a new layer find a blend modes which works well with the gradient I apply above its layer.
