Blurple Poster #149

Poster design image presentation number 149 titled Blurple

Two days ago, I created a Crump Poster with complex geometric shapes that I realized with Adobe Illustrator. It was so fun that I explored it a bit more today with Blurple Poster.

The design

As I did with Crump Poster, I used a watercolor brush in Illustrator that I modified with the Twirl, Pucker, Bloat, Scallop, and Crystallize tools. That way, I tried to control the watercolor stroke and generate complex geometry. It’s how I realized these interesting pieces of abstract shapes.

Once I created them, I dragged and dropped the geometry under my canvas in Photoshop and started to play with sizes and placement. I created a layer that I filled with a blue and purple gradient to link it with the geometry. It was to color the shapes.

I also played with hue and saturation to differentiate the background, the shapes, and the title rectangle.

Speed Art Poster #149

A lovely day to design a poster!
It was fun, and I hope you feel the same way about the result I came up with today. You will have fun watching me work on this one. Just in case, the speed art video is on the right, so don’t be shy to comment!
See you tomorrow for the poster 150!
